What Is The Highest Point In ARKANSAS? Mt. Magazine A Great Get Away
Once you reach the top of Mt. Magazine located in Paris, Arkansas, you will find a stunning 60 room lodge with 13 additional beautiful cabins. This is not your normal State Park facility. It is an enormous, beautiful, clean, up to date lodge sitting on top of this mountain. This lodge is part of the Arkansas State Parks and is run by the State Parks Division of the Arkansas Department of Parks and Tourism. The views from the lodge are just spectacular off of the mountains south side looking at the scenic Petit Jean River Valley and Blue Mountain Lake. If you cannot go to Paris, try Paris, Arkansas. Each room in the hotel has a porch with you can sit out and enjoy these breathtaking views. Most of my pictures were taken from the porch. The hallways and rooms are very large. Much larger than a standard hotel room. We were really impressed that the counter tops were granite. We also enjoyed the indoor poor area and the workout room. Our children counted 52 places to sit and relax on just the floor we were on and the lobby area. It seemed like everyone we passed was either walking around with their book or sitting and reading. The hallways and lobby area are remarkably quiet which is another reason people enjoy the lodge just to relax. They have signs stating that the quiet time starts each night at 10:00pm but everyone seemed pretty quiet to me most of the time. This would be a great place to spend time with God and enjoy the beauty He made all around you.

I mentioned the lodge is pretty quiet and secluded. The only restaurants for 15 to 20 miles is the restaurant in the lodge call the Skycrest restaurant. We had another surprise to find out that the prices were reasonable, the views were breathtaking, and the food was surprisingly delicious. We really enjoyed the food. We ate there for dinner both nights. We brought breakfast food and made sandwiches for lunch. Each room also has a refrigerator which came in handy. My blog is all about finding things that the entire family can do together to make memories which will last a life time. Mt. Magazine is definitely a great place for our family to visit. We look forward to future visits at the Lodge at Mt. Magazine. I hear the views in the fall are even more breathtaking.
