Peach Smoothie-Cookbook Review

Peach Smoothie Recipe Gooseberry Garfield cookbook

This Peach drink is so frothy, cold, sweet, and delicious.  It is similar to an Orange Julius drink except with peaches.

I am giving away Gooseberry Patch’s Garfield Cookbook on Friday, July 26, 2013.  Just leave me a message on this post OR my Great Burger & Gooseberry Cookbook Giveaway post for a chance to win.  It is that easy!  See below for additional ways to enter.

This Peach Smoothie is my second of three recipes I am blogging about from this Gooseberry Garfield cookbook.  I hope these posts will give you an idea of all the great recipes you will find in this Garfield cookbook.  As usual, I had a difficult time deciding which three recipes to write a post about.  Truly, all of the recipes in this cookbook look wonderful.Peach Smoothie http://recipesforourdailybread.com/2013/07/18/peach-smoothie-cookbook-giveaway/

When I saw a recipe for an Orange Frothy Drink in this Garfield cookbook, I could not wait to make it.  I love Orange Julius and was hoping this recipe would be similar to one.  The Orange Frothy Drink recipe was GREAT!  I knew I would blog about it until I saw a recipe for this Peach Smoothie.  This Peach Smoothie had similar ingredients as the Orange Frothy Drink.  I just had to try this peach drink, especially since we live so close to a Peach Orchard.  It is peach season and we have been peach picking a couple of times recently. I had fresh peaches at home and knew would be great in this Peach Smoothie.   After making this Peach Smoothie, it reminded me of the Orange Frothy drink recipe I made. I have never had a Peach Julius but I image it would taste just like this Peach Smoothie.  This smoothie was very frothy, cold, and a delicious sweet treat.

The recipe instructions say to slice 2 cups of peaches and freeze them.  I just sliced the fresh peaches and added them to the blender.  Because I did not use frozen peaches, I added 2 cups of ice.   If you have time or if you plan ahead of time, you may want to slice and freeze two cups of peaches before placing them in the blender.   Whether you decide to use fresh or frozen peaches, this recipe still works and is really, really tasty.

We picked fresh peaches from Collins Peach Orchard.

    Hi Diane,
I noticed you have a bottle of vanilla extract in your picture of ingredients, but I am not seeing that in your directions. Am I missing something?

Terri, Frozen peaches would be perfect. You would not have to add the ice. Let me know what you think. Blessings, Diane and thank you so very much for stopping by and leaving me a message for a chance to win this cookbook.
