Do you need a delicious recipe to use the rest of your turkey?  This Chicken/Turkey Pot Pie with Garlic Drop Biscuits is a great way to use up your leftover turkey.

I chopped my turkey up and exchanged it for the chicken in my Chicken Pot Pie recipe.   Everything was mix and cooked in my dutch oven.  I even cooked my biscuits on top of the pot pie before baking it.  This Turkey Pie was so quick and easy to make.  I started to make it in my cast iron skillet, but after adding a few ingredients, I realized it was not big enough.  So, I decided to make it in my cast iron dutch oven.  The Dutch oven gave it plenty of room to bubble without bubbling over in the oven.  I put all the ingredients for this Turkey Pot Pie in my dutch oven on top of the stove.

Garlic Cheese Drop Biscuits

Next, I whipped up my Garlic Cheese Drop Biscuits recipe and dropped the biscuits using an ice cream scoop right on top of the Turkey Pot Pie ingredients.  After baking the pot pie until the biscuits were brown, and the Turkey Pie was bubbly, I removed it from the oven and added a mixture of melted garlic butter on top of the biscuits.  I may never make a Chicken/Turkey Pot Pie any other way except using my dutch oven and topping it with Garlic Cheese Drop Biscuits.

    • Madeline,

Thank you for stopping by Recipes for our Daily Bread and leaving me a comment. To make my Chicken Pot Pie with Garlic Drop Biscuits I used a 6 quart Dutch Oven. It was too full for my cast iron skillet. I hope this helps and you get a chance to make it. I cannot tell you how delicious this pot pie is.
Thank you for your support! If you ever need me to answer any questions, please do not hesitate.

  1. Hi Diane! I want to make this recipe with some leftover turkey from my freezer… Looks so good! I’m not clear about the garlic butter though. Do I just pour all of it over the biscuits after the pot pie is finished cooking?

    • Cheryl,

Thank you for stopping by Recipes for our Daily Bread and leaving me a comment. You will love this Chicken pot pie. It is flavorful and creamy. You will definitely need to use your dutch oven because it will fill it up. My family loves the garlic drop biscuits so I decided to add them on top of my chicken pot pie. I also added them to my Italian bake //recipesforourdailybread.com/italian-pasta-bake-and-garlic-drop-biscuits/

I drop the biscuit dough on top of the chicken pot using an ice cream scoop before baking. After it is done, I brush on the melted butter and garlic mixture.

Let me know what you think or if I can ever help you with any recipe. I would be glad too.

  2. I have some left over gravy and roast beef so I think this is a great alternative. I have a question about the real mayonnaise. Can it be Miracle Whip?
    Thanks,

  3. Diane, this looks AMAZING and the combinations of flavors is off the charts! You are the queen of dutch oven culinary crazy goodness and this will not disappoint! Thanks for another terrific recipe. Carrie, A Mother’s Shadow
