WELCOME TO RECIPES FOR OUR DAILY BREAD!

I have kept homemade cookie dough in the freezer ever since my twin boys were two. This post includes the best way to Freezing Cookie Dough.

My twin boys are now 17.  One of my twins, Caleb, has special needs and did not learn how to walk until he was 2-1/2 years old.  I would set him on the counter and bake with him to help with his memory and motor skills. Caleb’s story here.  He still loves to bake and helps me every time I get in the kitchen.  Caleb’s favorite thing to bake has always been cookies, including double chocolate chip, White Chocolate Chip, M & M Cookies, Oatmeal Toffee, White Chocolate Raspberry, Peanut Butter, and Soft Ginger Molasses Cookies.  All of these cookies can be frozen.

Homemade cookie dough is easy to prepare and tastes so much better than the store-bought cookies.  Why not make extra cookie dough ahead of time and put the cookie dough into the freezer? When you are mixing up the cookie dough, just make several batches.  Freeze cookie dough and have it on hand and ready to bake for school, or a neighbor, or to serve to last-minute guest, or to treat your kids to something special.  Whatever the reason, you will always have cookie dough ready to pull out of the freezer and bake.

#Best Way to Freeze Cookies is to line a cookie sheet with parchment. Scoop out the cookie dough using an ice cream scoop. Freeze for 3 hours. Store in the frozen cookies in a large ziplock bag. #freeze cookie dough #cookie dough
There is nothing like homemade chocolate chip cookies.  Have plenty on hand when you need them.  Freeze them by using an ice cream scoop to dip the dough out onto a baking sheet.  Freeze for 2 to 3 hours and then place them into a large Freezer Storage Bag.

Raspberry White Chocolate Chip Cookies freeze really well.  Freeze them just like you would the chocolate chip cookies.

You DO NOT want to freeze cookie dough all mashed together in one large container or one large roll. The cookie dough will be very difficult to scoop out or slice if it is all frozen together.  The easiest way to freeze cookie dough is to scoop the dough out individually using an ice cream scoop.  Scoop them out just like you would do if you were going to bake them but you can put them closer together on the baking sheet because you are just freezing them and not baking them.  The cookies will not spread when freezing them.   A good size scoop is a regular ice cream scoop which equals 1/4 cup.  Place the scoops on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper.   Allow the cookie dough to freeze for at least three hours.  Remove the frozen cookie dough scoops from the cookie sheet, and place them into a large Freezer Zipper Bags.  Store them back in the freezer.  When you are ready to bake cookies, just place the individual cookie dough scoops on a baking sheet two inches apart and bake.

  1. I love cookies, but i never had frozen them. I am preparing a party to my younger son and I will make cookies and frozen them. Thank you for help me…have a good time

  2. I too have done this for many years. However, my husband loves eating frozen cookie dough, so I have to hide it. My favorite is Monster cookies which makes 14 dozen. Have a Blessed day.

    • Beth, My oldest child who is now 21 and headed to Medical school this fall, eats all of mine too. I am constantly hiding it in my freezer. Since this cookie dough is already pre scooped into small portions and then frozen, it makes it easy for them to grab one and eat it. What are we going to do with them? I love baking cookies and eating them warm from the oven. Freezing the doughs allows me to have fresh cookies more often.

I have heard of Monster cookies. Is this a Gooseberry recipe?

I don’t know where it comes from, I got it from a church cookbook.

        • Beth,
I see now why you freeze these cookies. They make a 14 dozen. You would always be able to bake fresh cookies in a hurry. I love Oatmeal, chocolate chips, M & M, and peanut butter. These cookies have a everything in them. Thank you so much for this recipe. I might just try them and blog about it. I have several church cookbooks. They remind me of Gooseberry cookbooks because they are a collection of everyone’s favorite recipes.

    • Denise, Thank you so much for stopping by and leaving me a comment. I love to fix cookie dough and freeze it. We eat wayyyyy to many cookies. Most cookies you will have to cook a few minutes longer. I know I need 4 to 5 more minutes on my chocolate chip, or white chocolate chip cookies. Do not over bake cookies! They will continue to bake and harden as they cool on the counter. I bake them on parchment paper. As soon as I remove the cookies from the oven, I take the parchment paper with the cookies on it and slide it off the baking pan and on the counter.
Blessings and visit again anytime! I truly enjoy getting messages for people who stop by for a visit!!
