I have kept homemade cookie dough in the freezer ever since my twin boys were two. This post includes the best way to Freezing Cookie Dough.
My twin boys are now 17. One of my twins, Caleb, has special needs and did not learn how to walk until he was 2-1/2 years old. I would set him on the counter and bake with him to help with his memory and motor skills. Homemade cookie dough is easy to prepare and tastes so much better than the store-bought cookies. Why not make extra cookie dough ahead of time and put the cookie dough into the freezer? When you are mixing up the cookie dough, just make several batches. Freeze cookie dough and have it on hand and ready to bake for school, or a neighbor, or to serve to last-minute guest, or to treat your kids to something special. Whatever the reason, you will always have cookie dough ready to pull out of the freezer and bake.
