If you enjoy taking a bath or a shower in the evening, this Lavender Sugar Scrub is for you.
The smell of lavender will help you relax. Lavender is known as a calming and relaxing herb and is used for insomnia, anxiety, depression, and natural stress relief. I was even reading this week about all the health benefits. I have not tried lavender for health reason, but I do know it helps with you relax. I love adding about ten drops of lavender essential oil to my bath water. I found my essential oils at an organic food supply place, but I have also heard that some Walgreens carry it and also Hobby Lobby sell essential oils.
What is a Sugar Scrub?
A sugar scrub gently exfoliates your skin and leaves it soft, smooth, silky, and smelling amazing. It smells good enough to eat. To make this sugar scrub super soft, I used Coconut Oil, Olive Oil, and Vitamin E. I have been taking Vitamin E for my hair and nails. I have also broken open the capsules and rubbed the oil around my cuticles to help with extreme dryness. I decided to try it in this sugar scrub. I think that is the secret to how soft this Sugar Scrub makes your hands feel. I broke open a few capsules, 1000 IE strength, for a teaspoon full and added it to the sugar scrub. I recently found out that you can purchase Vitamin E oil in the liquid form too. I was so excited how this sugar scrub turned out I made a Peppermint Scrub, and an Orange Sugar Scrub too.
If you need an inexpensive gift that smells amazing and leave your skin soft, try making this Lavender Sugar Scrub.
Ingredients for Lavender Sugar Scrub:
- 1 cup White Sugar
- 1/2 cup Coconut Oil (Do not heat oil up. It will soften)
- 2 tablespoons Olive Oil
- 1/4 teaspoon Peppermint Essential Oil
- 1 teaspoon Vitamin E (I break the capsule open)
Mix all the ingredients well. I store it in a mason jar.
