What is a White Coat Ceremony? I had never heard of a White Coat Ceremony until this past week.
My oldest daughter, Carly, graduated from college in May. This week, she started medical school. She has always been driven and determined to become a doctor. We are so proud of her!! It will be a very long, hard, and difficult road that will last at least 7 years. Anyway, UAMS medical school has a White Coat Ceremony to recognize all the students who made it into the program. Out of 2,300 applicants, they only took 174 people into their medical program this year. It is truly a great accomplishment. After reciting their Medical Student Oath, each student was called up on stage. A White Coat, the symbol of a doctor, was placed on each student. They also received a copy of the Medical Student Oath they signed. Congratulations My Sweet, Sweet Carly!! You are not only smart but have a great Christian heart. You will be the best doctor one day! I got carried away and took 56 pictures. It was very difficult to narrow down all the pictures to just these seven from Carly’s White Coat Ceremony.
The White Coat Ceremony was August 9, 2013 and family day was August 10. I saved this post for today because Carly is 22 today, August 14. Happy Birthday Carly!!! Lots of Love, Mom, Dad, Casey, Caleb, Jonah, Diana, Cocoa, Hershey, and Reese
