This Fudge Pie is not a Chocolate Pie, and it is not a Brownie Pie.

It is the best gooey Chocolate Fudge Pie with Pecans ever.  I am going to teach you how to make this easy fudge pie.

To make this fabulous pie, you will need butter, unsweetened chocolate, eggs, light corn syrup, sugar, salt, pure vanilla, butter flavor, pecans, and a pie shell.

A Piece OF Fudge

This Best Fudge Pie taste like a piece of fudge that has not had time to cool to its solid form.  One bite creates a warm, creamy, dreamy chocolate sensation in your mouth.

I know that sometimes I overuse the word “love,” but I love this pie.  It ranks up there as one of the best pies I have ever had.  The last time I fixed this fudge pie my special needs son Caleb, read more about Caleb in the About Roark section, who has selective mutism and rarely speaks said, “That was YUMMY!”  We were all so surprised!  Seriously, he rarely says a word due to his selective mutism.  I knew then that I needed to blog about this best fudge pie.

Real Meaning Of The Word Love

We often use the word “Love” so much that we forget the real meaning of the word.

The Bible says in 1 Corinthians 13, "Love is patient, love is kind and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant, does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered, does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails."

Best Fudge Pie Recipe

Our challenge is to show LOVE with our actions and not just to say, “I Love you.”

If we truly love someone, let’s try to show them or shock them with our patience, kindness, and more.  This Bible verse always hits me hard at the beginning when it says, “Love is patient.”  I am a work in progress, but I am happy to report that over the years I have made a lot of improvement.

Since Chocolate is frequently shared with someone, you love, bake them this Fudge Pie.  You will both love it.

Use a double boiler or a bowl on top of the pot as I am using and melt the butter and chocolate.

  1. I just found this recipe and would love to make it today for Thanksgiving!! It truly looks delicious!! I’m planning to use a frozen pie crust and was wondering if I would use a “regular” or “deep dish” frozen pie crust? Thank you and Happy Thanksgiving!

  2. 5 stars
I like chocolate and dishes with it. I just made this pie and have to say it’s the best chocolate pie I’ve ever had. I followed your recipe exactly – and it was perfect. Thank you for sharing the great recipe.

  3. 5 stars
I like the disclaimer that a fudge pie isnt just a chocolate pie nor a brownie pie. I usually point that out to my friends as well haha! This is a lovely recipe. I enjoyed reading the words of wisdom along with it. This is indeed FOOD for THOUGHT. great site!

    • Rowan,

Thank you for stopping by Recipes for our Daily Bread and leaving me a comment on my Fudge Pie recipe. It really is one of my favorite pies if not my absolute favorite.
I hope you give it a try.

      Many Blessings,

  4. I love chocolate and dishes with it. They look so attractive and delicious. I usually combine chocolate and peanut, because pieces of crushed peanut make cakes more greasy. Finish chocolate cakes by drizzling peanuts on top and you will see how perfect your cakes become! Try and enjoy it!

  5. Never mind my previous question! I followed the directions on the box of baking chocolate and microwaved it (putting the butter in after the second zap session). I’ll followup with my rating and, hopefully, rave review!

  6. I just made this pie and have to say it’s the best chocolate pie I’ve ever had. And I’m 62 years old and I’ve had my share of pies in my life! When I cut my pie it looked just like yours (and nothing I make seems to look like photo of the recipes I try). So that made me happy. I followed your recipe exactly – and it was perfect. I’m also pleased that it cuts so well. WINNER!!!!!

    • Lynn,

  7. Does this pie need to be refrigerated or can it stay at room temp?

Also, the 2 tablespoons of butter on the crust seems like a lot, is that much really needed?

    • Summer,

I love your name. Thank you so much for stopping by Recipes for our Daily Bread and leaving me a comment. I have never used Germans Chocolate. Is is sweet? If it is sweet, you may have to cut the sugar some in the recipe. I truly love this pie. It is so creamy and delicious. Let me know if you have any other questions.

  8. Question-after baking this crazy awesome looking thing you’ve got here, can I freeze this pie?
Thank for sharing, I will be making it this weekend!!!!

    • Mellie,

This Fudge Pie NEVER last more than a day or two. I have no idea if you can freeze it. I would say yes because it is so much like fudge, but I am just not sure.

  15. Happy SITS Day. This pie looks and sounds yummy. I have some many food sensitivities (dairy, wheat, and eggs) so I can’t make it (because if I try making this for my family I would EAT it), but I enjoyed seeing the pictures and reading about it.

  16. This looks amazing. Have you tried it with a graham cracker pie crust, rather than a traditional crust? I’m going to have to make this one! Thank you! God Bless!

    • Johanna,

I not kidding when I say this is my favorite pie. I always heat it up just a few seconds in the microwave. It is so creamy and delicious. I have not tried it with Graham cracker crust. I think it would work and taste great.

It really is one of my favorite desserts. I love the pecans but you could also use walnuts. Thanks you so much for stopping by and leaving me a comment.

  18. I made this, only had 3 oz of the unsweetened chocolate, so went ahead and made the pie. The pie tasted so great. My hubby really liked it and he normally doesn’t care for chocolate. Since there was just the two of us, I froze half of the pie. Thanks for sharing.

    • Nina,
