Dolly Parton’s Smoky Mountain Adventures dinner show is high energy and even romantic at times.  Fantastic Fun For Entire Family!

Do you have vacation plans to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee?  Do not miss Dolly Parton’s new dinner show Smoky Mountain Adventures.  From the time the show begins to the end, it is high energy adventures with constant singing, dancing, trampoline jumping, tumbling, not to mention people flying all over the place over your head.  Not only will you see a terrific show but the food is delicious.

First of All: Dolly Parton Productions gave me tickets to her new show, Dolly Parton’s Smoky Mountain Adventures but this review is my honest opinion.

Second: This post is long with several videos in it.  Be sure to continue reading until the end.

Dolly Parton’s Parents

For the past couple of years during the Christmas season, Dolly’s has had made for T.V. shows about her childhood.  By now, you probably already know that her mom was an Owen, Avie Lee Owen, and her dad was a Parton.  Dolly’s Papa was Lee Parton.  The Parton’s and Owen’s families did not get along, but that did not stop Avie Lee and Lee Parton from getting together.

The actress and actor who plays Avie Lee and Lee Parton is on the left and middle of the picture below.

Smoky Mountain Adventures Dinner Show Opened May 2017

Dolly Parton’s new dinner show just opened in May, so it was my first time to see it.  As you enter the auditorium, you will notice the seats are raised like in a stadium in a U shape with the stage in the center.  The seating allows everyone to have a perfect view of the stage and show.  From the time the show begins to the end, it is high energy adventures with constant singing, dancing, trampoline jumping, tumbling, not to mention people flying all over the place over your head.  Smokey Mountain Adventures is a feud between the Parton’s and Owen’s but do not worry they come together at the end for Dolly’s Parents to get married.  DOLLY PARTON'S SMOKY MOUNTAIN ADVENTURES IS NEW

High Energy Show At Dolly Parton’s Smoky Mountain Adventures

Every second of the show will hold your attention with all sorts of high flying events. I had two favorite scenes.  One of my favorite scenes was when Avie Lee and Lee snuck away to have a date. You can see this in the video below.  The music was excellent as they did Aerial Fabric Acrobatics.  You know when you make gymnastic moves on silk hanging from the ceiling.  It was beautiful.

You can see part of it in the video below.

Another favorite scene was at the end.  You cannot describe how crazy the man was when doing his Acrobatic stunts on a spinning wheel.  It looked like a giant hamster wheel that a man was doing flips in it while it was spinning.  He did flips on the inside of it and if that was not dangerous enough he moved to the outside of the spinning wheel for more Acrobatics.  The entire audience was glued to every move this man made.  He was crazy!  It looked extremely dangerous but was exciting and thrilling.

Fabulous Fried Chicken & Fixin’s

What is my favorite food ever?  Fried chicken!  My family gives me a hard time because I am a Fried Chicken Connoisseur.  In other words, I love fried chicken, and I am constantly looking for the perfect piece.  If fried chicken is on the menu, I am ordering it.  When I eat fried chicken, I eat it extremely slow to savor every bite.

Fried Chicken At Dolly Parton’s Smokey Mountain Adventures

I was not disappointed in Dolly Parton’s Smoky Mountain Adventures fried chicken.  It was extremely HOT!  How did they do that?  They serve hundreds and maybe even a thousand people fried chicken all at one time, and it was hot.  WOW!  It was not only hot but incredibly juicy and flavorful.  The menu included hot fried chicken, pulled pork, corn on the cob, potato, biscuit and Dolly’s famous Cream of Vegetable Soup.  It was all finger lickin’ good.  To top everything off, we had a fantastic flaky peach turnover.  Dolly could not get better food than at her dinner show Dixie Stampede, but she did.  The food at Dolly Parton’s Smoky Mountain Adventures was fabulous.

I know I received tickets to see Smoky Mountain Adventures, but I will pay to see it again and again.  It was fantastic family fun!

  1. Hi Diane!
I really liked the way you shared your experience. I’m all jealous 😀 Will definitely make plans to go to that place and enjoy like you did. And, thanks for sharing such a great chicken recipe, looks delicious…

  2. Funny story – My wife actually went to one of these as part of a high school field trip. When the announcer said something like “and now a word from Dolly Parton…” my wife SCREAMED at the top of her lungs “DOLLY!!!”… she was mortified to learn that it was only a video message that was playing and not actually Dolly herself lol I love that story.

  3. I’m glad that your family just had a great spending time with each other! That place looks so fun and lots of energy there. I should take my family to there to enjoy those awesome moments! Thanks for sharing your experiences 😀

  4. Fantastic detailing, I am a fan of fried chicken too, although i like them baked and roasted too. I sometimes pressure cook the chicken marinated with spices before frying it

    • Andy,

Thank you for stopping by Recipes For Our Daily Bread and leaving me a comment. I LOVE FRIED CHICKEN! Last week, when my family and I was visiting Gatlinburg, TN area I cannot tell you how much fried chicken I ate. It is just good comfort food. I love my homemade fried chicken better than any fried chicken I have had because it is extremely flavorful and crunchy. You can see the recipe here:
Pressure cooking the chicken before frying it sounds like the perfect way to get even more flavor into the chicken and keep it juicy too. Do you dry the chicken off before battering it? Do you simply flour the chicken or do you dip it into something first? I am going to have to try pressure cooking my chicken first. Sounds delicious!
