CHICKEN & DUMPLINGS IN CROCKPOT

Crock Pot Chicken & Dumplings are so much easier to make than the homemade version.

Let your slow cooker do all the work when making chicken & dumplings.

CROCK POT CHICKEN DUMPLINGS

O.K. southerners, I know we say Chick’n n Dumplins and not Chicken & Dumplings.  After all, I did grow up in South Alabama and have lived all over the south.

Southern Slang

I was just afraid everyone would think I cannot spell which is why I try to write a little better than I speak.  Trust me, I often type southern slang while writing a post, but most of the time my family reads my posts before they go live and guilts me into changing my slang words.

So, if you say Chicken & Dumplings or Chicken N Dumplins, keep reading to see why I love this Easy Crock Pot Chicken & Dumplings

Easy Crock Pot Chicken & Dumplings

I love made from scratch Chicken & Dumplings.  You can see my homemade dumplings here.   I wanted to give you this Easy Crock Pot Chicken & Dumplings recipe too.  Because of lack of time, this is the recipe I use most often.  Although the made from scratch Chicken and Dumplings are amazing, they require extra steps and work.  Since my blog is all about giving you quick, easy, and delicious recipes to help put dinner on the table fast,  this recipe falls into the easy and delicious categories.

My kids rave about the slow cooker version just as much as the made from scratch version.  Because it is much simpler to make, I tend to prepare it more often.  I hope your family will enjoy this Slow Cooker Chicken n Dumplings and fix it often also.

  2. Hi Diane, this recipe for Chicken ‘N Dumplings look so good and can’t wait to try them. I do have a question, Do you roll the biscuits in flour before adding? I have seen some recipes that do that 1) to keep them from sticking together and 2) To help the broth to thicken a bit. Thanks so much for any help you can give me. Have a wonderful and Blessed Day and a safe 4th of July.

    • Joann,

Thank you for stopping by to see my slow cooker Chicken N Dumplings recipe. I do not roll my biscuits in flour before adding them to the slow cooker. I drop them one by one and leave a few seconds between each time I drop one. I also stir the dumplings well after I have dropped a few. If you were dropping a handful of dumplings rolling them in flour would be helpful. I will try it next time.

Thank you for trying one of my recipes and leaving me a comment.

  3. I made chicken and dumplings for my first time not too long ago with another recipe. The addition of carrots on their end made the soup taste too sweet. So I searched and searched and so glad I found your recipe. It was just the right recipe I was looking for. Truly delicious. Thank you so much for posting.

  4. Diane, you are really doing a fabulous job with the crock pot recipes and making food budget-friendly, time saving and tasty to satisfy the family. Thanks for all your hard work to provide so many fabulous slow-cooker dishes. Carrie, A Mother’s Shadow

    • Janine,

This recipe wins out in my house because it is sooo much easier to make than Chicken & Dumplings from scratch. I love the scratch version but not that much more than this super easy slow cooker version. It really is delicious.
      Thanks for stopping by!
      Blessings,
      Diane
