I had no idea until seeing this recipe in Gooseberry Patch Hometown Christmas Cookbook you could use any lemon-lime soda to make light and fluffy Biscuits.  They are the easiest biscuits I have ever made and possibly the best.  I make a lot of biscuits, but I have never made any biscuits using Lemon-Lime Soda.  It works!  These Sprite biscuits just melt in your mouth.  If you need a quick bread that is easy, light, fluffy, and melts in your mouth, you have to try these Fizzle Biscuits made with Sprite or lemon-lime soda.

  • 1/4 cup butter melted
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 2 cups biscuits biscuit baking mix
  • 1/2 cup lemon-lime soda


  • Spread melted butter in a 8 x 8-inch baking dish.
  • In a bowl, cut sour cream into the biscuit mix.
  • Add the soda, and stir until everything is wet and comes together
  • Drop by large spoonfuls, I use a large ice cream scoop, over butter.
  • Bake 450 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes until golden.
  • Makes nine biscuits.
