These Lettuce Taco Wraps are not only easy to make but healthy and delicious.  I swapped out the ground beef for ground turkey and the taco shells for lettuce.  This is an easy idea for your entire family to eat healthier but still enjoy delicious tacos.

Goal To Eat Healthier

One of my goals, this year was to eat healthier which is why I have decided to eat this version of tacos.  It is easy to replace ground beef with ground turkey without my family even noticing.  I think we would agree that ground turkey is better for you than ground beef, but sometimes it can be bland.  When I use ground turkey, I simply season it well.  It is delicious.

Healthier Tacos 

I have tried it in my chili and now my tacos.  Chili and Tacos have lots of seasonings.  My family never noticed I had added ground turkey instead of the ground beef.  My kids are older, 12 to 23 years old and love lettuce.  They said they enjoyed the lettuce leaves better than taco shells.  I know this healthier version of tacos is a good step to making a few changes at a time to eat healthier.

Brown the ground turkey.  Next, add a one-ounce pack of taco seasoning per three-fourths’ pound of ground turkey instead of a pound of ground beef as the package calls for.  

Next, I added the water the package called for. 

I added the ground turkey taco meat to lettuce wraps with shredded cheese and sour cream.  

These healthier taco wraps are so easy to make that we have had them twice lately.  The next time I make these Lettuce Taco Wraps I am going to try using boneless, skinless chicken breast cut up.  I will let you know how my family likes them.

Ingredients

  • 3/4 pound ground turkey
  • 1- ounce pack of taco seasoning
  • water
  • Leaf Lettuce
  • TOPPINGS:
  • sour cream
  • shredded cheese

Instructions

  • Browning the ground turkey.
  • Added 1-ounce pack of taco seasoning per three-fourths' pound of ground turkey instead of a pound of ground beef as the package calls for.
  • Next, I added the water the package indicated.
  • Add the ground turkey taco meat to leaf lettuce

      Thanks so much for stopping by. I am still trying hard to eat healthy at least one day a week. Seriously, I love these healthier tacos. I use ground tuckey with extra seasoning plus a lettuce leaf instead of a taco shell. Super easy and delish!
