This Peach Smoothie is my second of three recipes I am blogging about from this Gooseberry Garfield cookbook.
I hope these posts will give you an idea of all the great recipes you will find in this Garfield cookbook. As usual, I had a difficult time deciding which three recipes to write a post about. Indeed, all of the recipes in this cookbook look fantastic.
When I saw a recipe for an Orange Frothy Drink in this Garfield cookbook, I could not wait to make it. I love Orange Julius and was hoping this recipe would be similar to one. The Orange Frothy Drink recipe was GREAT! I knew I would blog about it until I saw a recipe for this Peach Smoothie. This Peach Smoothie had similar ingredients as the Orange Frothy Drink. I just had to try this peach drink, especially since we live so close to a Peach Orchard. It is peach season, and we have been peach picking a couple of times recently.
I had fresh peaches at home and knew would be great in this Smoothie. After making this Smoothie, it reminded me of the Orange Frothy drink recipe I made. I have never had a Peach Julius, but I image it would taste just like this Smoothie. This smoothie was very frothy, cold, and a delicious sweet treat.
The recipe instructions say to slice 2 cups of peaches and freeze them. I just sliced the fresh peaches and added them to the blender. Because I did not use frozen peaches, I added 2 cups of ice. If you have the time or if you plan in plenty of time, you may want to slice and freeze two cups of peaches before placing them in the blender. Whether you decide to use fresh or frozen peaches, this recipe still works and is delicious.
