My family enjoys Caramel Sauce.  We eat it on brownies, ice cream, pound cake, Blondies, and more.  I had to try this Homemade Caramel Sauce and loved it.

HOMEMADE CARAMEL SAUCE

Prep Time5 hrs 28 mins
Cook Time5 hrs 28 mins

Ingredients

  • 14 ounce can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/2 cup butter sliced
  • 2 cups brown sugar packed
  • 3/4 cup light corn syrup
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  • Combine all the ingredients in a heavy saucepan over medium heat.
  • Bring to a boil, constantly stir until mixture reaches a soft-ball stage, 234 to 243 degrees.
  • Transfer into a mini slow cooker on low setting for serving.
  • Makes about 2 cups.

I have always loved sugared pecans and making them in my slow cooker was so easy to do.  They were a great sugary nutty treat.

Slow Cooker Spiced & Sugared Pecans

  • 1 pound walnuts, pecans OR almonds
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1-1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon allspice
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
  1. Preheat slow cooker on high setting for 15 minutes.
  2. Add nuts and drizzle with butter.
  3. Add powdered sugar, stirring until nuts are well blended.
  4. Cover and cook on high setting for 15 minutes.
  5. Reduce heat to low setting.
  6. Remove lid and cook, uncovered, for 2 hours, stirring occasionally.
  7. Transfer nuts to a bowl.
  8. Combine spices in a cup; sift over nuts, stirring to coat evenly.
  9. Store in an air tight container.
  10. Makes about one pound.

  3. My favorite slow cooker recipe is a Leftover Turkey Chowdern I make right after Thanksgiving! It is filled with sweet corn, red potatoes, a gravy base, and of course, turkey! YUM!

  6. I have followed your website for some time now and I can always find something to feed my hungry boys and hubby. I make a lot of recipes in my slow cooker because we all work and have school so coming home to an already made dinner is the best. I have made entire dinners including a meatloaf with baked potatoes around the edges of it while it is is the slow cooker.

  9. I make a wonderful hot chocolate in the slow cooker……we sip on it all day Christmas Eve….that and Wassail….also in the slow cooker.

  10. I like to use my slow cookers to keep food warm for Holiday dinners. I like to make this Bean Dip in the slow cooker for everyone to snack on. Serve the Dip with Tostitos Chips. I use the slow cookers if I’m going to have a big crowd or if I’m going to someone’s house. I’d love to win this cookbook! I’ve been on Gooseberry Patch website for 7 years.   11. I make mini bbq meatballs in the slow cooker. I didn’t realize you can do nuts in the slow cooker too. That is on the list for this year.

  13. Although I haven’t tried it, I think slow roasted turkey breast would be delicious in a slow cooker. I’m new to using a slow cooker and this cook book would be a big help for finding recipes.
