My family enjoys Caramel Sauce.  We eat it on brownies, ice cream, pound cake, Blondies, and more.  I had to try this Homemade Caramel Sauce and loved it.

HOMEMADE CARAMEL SAUCE

Prep Time5 hrs 28 mins
Cook Time5 hrs 28 mins

Ingredients

  • 14 ounce can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/2 cup butter sliced
  • 2 cups brown sugar packed
  • 3/4 cup light corn syrup
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  • Combine all the ingredients in a heavy saucepan over medium heat.
  • Bring to a boil, constantly stir until mixture reaches a soft-ball stage, 234 to 243 degrees.
  • Transfer into a mini slow cooker on low setting for serving.
  • Makes about 2 cups.

I have always loved sugared pecans and making them in my slow cooker was so easy to do.  They were a great sugary nutty treat.

Slow Cooker Spiced & Sugared Pecans

  • 1 pound walnuts, pecans OR almonds
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1-1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon allspice
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
  1. Preheat slow cooker on high setting for 15 minutes.
  2. Add nuts and drizzle with butter.
  3. Add powdered sugar, stirring until nuts are well blended.
  4. Cover and cook on high setting for 15 minutes.
  5. Reduce heat to a low setting.
  6. Remove lid and cook, uncovered, for 2 hours, stirring occasionally.
  7. Transfer nuts to a bowl.
  8. Combine spices in a cup; sift over nuts, stirring to coat evenly.
  9. Store in an airtight container.
  10. It makes about one pound.
