BEST SLOW COOKER ITALIAN SAUSAGE GREEN BEANS POTATOES

How did I make this Slow Cooker Italian Sausage recipe so flavorful but easy to do?  I have several secrets.

  1. Red potatoes are my potato of choice in this recipe.  To make it simple, I wash them well and cut off the bad places but left the skin on the potatoes.  Next, I cut the potatoes into bite-size pieces for this slow cooker Italian sausage recipe.
  2. Olive Garden Creamy Italian Dressing is my dressing of choice in this recipe.  Olive Garden Dressing is delicious and seasoned this recipe well. I purchased this creamy dressing at Walmart.
  3. Hot Italian sausage is not spicy but adds lots of flavors when slow cooked in these beans and potatoes.
  4. I used Paul Prudhomme’s Pizza Pasta Magic to add even more seasoning.  I add this Italian seasoning in all my pasta, pizzas, and any other Italian recipes.  It is so much better than just adding Italian seasoning.
  5. I used three pounds of frozen green beans to make this recipe easy.

How did I come up with this recipe?

I make a similar recipe using Cajun Sausage, Cajun Seasoning, potatoes, and green beans.  It is easy to make, and my family loves it.  I decided to try using the same essential ingredients but substituted the Cajun sausage for Italian sausage.  I also switched the Cajun seasoning for Italian seasoning.  Now, this Slow Cooker Italian Sausage recipe is one of our favorite slow cooker dishes.

    • Whitney,

Thank you for stopping by to see my Slow Cooker Italian Sausage Green Beans and Potatoes. This recipe is so easy and flavorful. I went back to read the recipe to make sure it was correct and I did find an error. I am so sorry! The original recipe called for 1 cup of Italian Seasoning and 1 tablespoon of Italian seasoning. It should have been one cup of Italian DRESSING. I use Olive Garden Italian dressing plus one tablespoon of Italian seasoning. I use Paul Prudhommes’s. Do not thaw out the green beans before adding them to the slow cooker.

Again, I am sorry it was confusing. I hope this helps.
      Have a wonderful week!

  1. My grandmother actually used to make a similar meal, but on the stove top. It was one of my favorites, but don’t have the time usually to make on the stove top. So, going to have to try your version in the slow cooker for sure now as you totally just brought me back. Thanks Diane!! 🙂

    • Janine,

Thank you for stopping by and leaving me a comment. I love hearing from you and your memories with your grandmother. You will love this slow cooker version. The Italian dressing and seasonings soak into the potatoes and green beans. It is Finger Lickin Good!!

Have a great rest of the week!
      Blessings,
      Diane
