HOW TO MAKE CHOCOLATE CHESS PIE A SOUTHERN FAVORITE!
The ingredients for this easy Chocolate Chess Pie are a staple in most pantries which makes it a go-to pie for holidays or anytime. They include sugar, salt, cocoa powder, cornmeal, butter, buttermilk, and eggs.
Servings: 8 pieces
- 1 - ¾ cups sugar
- 1 TB all-purpose flour
- 2 TB yellow cornmeal
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup Cocoa powder
- 4 eggs beaten
- 1/2 cup butter 1 stick, melted
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 1 pie crust
Preheat oven 325 degrees.
To make this pie, you mix sugar, cocoa, flour, cornmeal, and salt. Use an electric mixer and gently combine these dry ingredients.
Slowly add in the eggs, buttermilk, melted butter and vanilla.
Add this liquid mixture to the dry ingredients in the mixer and blend well.
Pour into unbaked pie shell.
Bake in a 325-degree oven for 55-60 minutes OR the pie is set in the center.
