Ingredients

  • 1 - ¾ cups sugar
  • 1 TB all-purpose flour
  • 2 TB yellow cornmeal
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup Cocoa powder
  • 4 eggs beaten
  • 1/2 cup butter 1 stick, melted
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1 pie crust

Instructions

  • Preheat oven 325 degrees.
  • To make this pie, you mix sugar, cocoa, flour, cornmeal, and salt. Use an electric mixer and gently combine these dry ingredients.
  • Slowly add in the eggs, buttermilk, melted butter and vanilla.
  • Add this liquid mixture to the dry ingredients in the mixer and blend well.
  • Pour into unbaked pie shell.
  • Bake in a 325-degree oven for 55-60 minutes OR the pie is set in the center.
