Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground sausage your choice regular, Maple, or Hot
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 4 cups of milk
  • 1 teaspoon Seasoned Salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  • Crumble sausage into large skillet.  Cook over medium-high heat until browned and no longer pink, stirring frequently.
  • Leave the cooked sausage in the skillet and whisk in the flour.  Completely cover all the sausage with the flour.  The sausage and sausage drippings should completely absorb all the flour.
  • Slowly whisk in the milk.
  • Season the sausage gravy with season salt and pepper.  You could also use salt and pepper.
  • Cook until mixture thickens, stirring constantly.
  • Split biscuits in half.  Top with about sausage gravy.
  • You could also serve Sausage Gravy over Southern Grits.  See my extremely flavorful grits here.

Notes

  • Gravy will thicken as it cools.  If you reheat it or you like thin gravy, simply add a splash more milk.
  • Try using MAPLE or Hot Sausage
