SLOW COOKER APPLE BUTTER
Let your slow cooker do all the work for this delicious slow cooker apple butter.
Servings: 2 quarts
- 4 pounds apples about 16 medium apples, peeled and cored
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1-1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoons allspice
- 1/4 teaspoons cloves
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup water
Wash apples and then core and peel them.
Slice the apples into 4 equal parts.
Place the apples along with 2 cups water in a slow cooker.
Add the sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon and allspice.
pour in the water.
Cook on low 6 to 8 hours.
Use a hand-held immersion blender to blend up the apples until smooth.
You can also place cooled apples in a food processor and blend until smooth if you do not have an immersion blender.
Ladle the butter into mason jars.
Do not fill all the way up to the top of the jars.
