  • 4 pounds apples about 16 medium apples, peeled and cored
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1-1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoons allspice
  • 1/4 teaspoons cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup water


  • Wash apples and then core and peel them.
  • Slice the apples into 4 equal parts.
  • Place the apples along with 2 cups water in a slow cooker.
  • Add the sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon and allspice.
  • pour in the water.
  • Cook on low 6 to 8 hours.
  • Use a hand-held immersion blender to blend up the apples until smooth.
  • You can also place cooled apples in a food processor and blend until smooth if you do not have an immersion blender.
  • Ladle the butter into mason jars.
  • Do not fill all the way up to the top of the jars.
  • Makes 3 pints
