My Love For Kitchen Gadgets

My husband knows how much I love kitchen gadgets and cookbooks.  You would probably say I was strange because I had rather have a kitchen gadget or cookbook than a new outfit or pair of shoes.  I love to get a surprise for my kitchen.  Over 30 years of marriage, I still enjoy my kitchen surprises.  Although my husband always wonders where I am going to store it, he still often brings me home a gadget or cookbook.  He added this Veggetti in my stocking this past Christmas.  I have used it several times this year and loved it.  It is so easy to use.  My two oldest kids augured over who was going to make the zucchini pasta.  I think they were having a lot of fun playing with this Veggetti.  To make zucchini pasta, I put the zucchini in the Veggetti and twisted it.

Healthy Tip:

Keep the zucchini peel on.  The skin offers extra fiber, and dietary fiber can help regulate your digestive system.

This Veggetti is was not difficult to twist, and the best news was I was not afraid of cutting myself.  It seems much safer than my mandoline.

Cooking Tip:

Zucchini noodles can be enjoyed raw in salads or with pasta dishes, but you can also boil, saute, and microwave them.  They are full of water.  When using them in a pasta dish, decrease the wet ingredients, or let the zucchini pasta drain in a strainer for at least 15 minutes.  Next, dry them well using paper towels.
